A grassroots movement bringing people together to fight injustice and build just alternatives. We connect various movements, draw links between diverse forms of oppression and resistance, and thereby strengthen our collective impact, through art, direct action, political campaigns and tech.
HOTM started in Brussels in 2014. Over the past ten years it has grown from a single cultural venue into a network that connects movements and organizes campaigns and events across the country.
HOTM began as Le Space, a venue in Brussels for art, debate and book presentations, run together with KVS, Kaaitheater and Kunstenfestivaldesarts.
We work together with organizations on migrant dignity, racial justice and Palestinian rights, because these campaigns often share the same demands.
Our work has included a 35,000-signature petition for undocumented workers, occupations of arms manufacturers, and public campaigns that reached a wide audience. See our ongoing projects.
On International Migrants Day, we took part in a symbolic action at Brussels' Begijnhofkerk, organized by the In My Name platform. A giant puppet named Sabine, representing Belgium's undocumented residents, received a symbolic work permit. The action calls attention to the staffing shortage in healthcare and the undocumented people already doing this work without legal status.

The government had approved €350,000 a year in funding for HOTM, with unanimous committee support. That funding was cut. We are now raising €100,000 to continue our work through 2026.
